Unique product I have waited 9 years for!!
I have wanted one of these Washlets since I visited Japan in 2001 and stayed in a hotel where all the toilets were equipped with this device. I must say I was a little apprehensive at first, but a warm seat, cleaning your bottom without repeated wiping and chafing, and a deodorizer and dryer was an awesome idea!Then I needed to wait to 1. Buy the house 2. Remodel the bathroom (with dedicated GFCI outlet installed for this purpose!) 3. Convince everyone that I REALLY WANTED THIS WASHLET for my 40th Birthday, which is next Tuesday, the 27th.I got a really great price through Amazon.com from Buy [...], it was less than $700 delivered, which was the best price I could find anywhere. I love it, but...
I got the Toto washlet S300 a few weeks ago. I spent a little over $1100 on the toilet, and another $500 or so to get a three prong GFCI grounded outlet installed next to my toilet and to get the Toto installed. It's a lot of money for someone like me. I spent weeks researching bidet-type toilet seats, and wished that I had more information than I could get over the Internet. That's why I'm writing this review. I apologize for how long this is... I'm just trying to be as thorough as possible, so you can be as educated as possible about it, before spending that much money for yourself.The first time I saw the toilet, I was disappointed by how cheap-looking and flimsy the lid appeared to be. This Toilet Turned Me Into A Toto Fan!
About six years ago I helped a friend of mine equip his entire house with Toto Drake toilets. He spent a lot of time researching toilets and settled on the Drake. I was living in a new condo unit at the time and the toilets there were the standard American Standards you see just about everywhere. Double flushing was part of my everyday life. What a senseless waste of water, I used to think. These efficiency toilets where a joke, but what are you going to do? That's just the way they make them now'days.Or so I thought...So over the course of an afternoon my friend and I put together and installed four of these suckers and they all worked great! Great toilet!
I never thought I'd be excited about a toilet, but this one has been a great buy for me. I purchased from another online retailer for less than offered here. Toilet was very easy to install for this average do-it-yourself homeowner. The great thing about this toilet is it can handle the bulk. I've had it for one year now and never had a problem compared to the toilet it replaced that would always clog up. Also, the sani-gloss finish makes cleaning a breeze. I'm very happy with it and plan to replace the other two toilets in my home with this model as well.

AWESOME Toilet! Very fast and powerful flush
DEC 3 UPDATE. A few months ago I replaced the main floor toilet with this. Even with no venting at all, this toilet has astonishing flush power. Again - this in a bathroom with NO venting. The toilet is so powerful that, at the end of the flush, it needed to pull "some air" from the pipes. Since there was no other proper vent, the air was pulled through the traps of the sink and shower. I installed an air admittance valve under the sink at that problem was solved. No more gurgling.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Ok so I'm an engineer by trade and always do my research. I actually bought this from another Internet source that has much better pricing than Amazon (it doesn't happen often though and we usually buy through the big A). Excellent Toilet
I carefully reviewed this toilet by looking at all sorts of reviews online before purchasing it because this is an expensive toilet. I noted a bunch of reviewers professing love for the toilet. I thought these reviewers overstated their opinions, but I now realize I was wrong: This is an outstanding item.We've had it now for about 5 weeks and I am impressed. It definitely saves water and does an effective flushing job. No one in my family has had to flush twice, which is certainly not the case with our older, inefficient toilets. The flushing action is (very) fast and is reasonably quiet. In my opinion, it is quiet enough so that noise is not a concern. Initially I was nonplussed with the seat because it's sculpted so that it is concave. But after a week or so I believe it's the most comfortable seat of all our toilets. The SanaGloss aspect seems to work well but because I do not own a similar toilet without SanaGloss, I can't be totally confident about this opinion. I...

Amazing. Simply amazing... made me a believer.
I was reluctant to replace one of our old 7 gallon toilets because our septic line is... well, there isn't much slope, certainly not enough. However the septic system is getting a little old and I thought this might help reduce the fluid load. I was not convinced that solids would be properly flushed through our long, not quite perfect sewer lines, but I figured we could flush a couple of times if necessary. Boy, was I wrong!This thing flushes so fast that the water rockets through the pipe, thus not allowing clogs to form in the septic line.In addition, I put it in March 18, 2010 and as of today, June 3, 2010 I have not cleaned the interior (3 months? Really? Yes!). Am I a bad housekeeper? Heck no, but this thing (sanigloss is the key here) does not get dirty, it is still sparkling white with no signs of needing even a sponging! Sure, the rim, base and seat but not the interior. While this can't last indefinitely (can it??), I am more than happy with...

Bathroom Update!
I just bought a TOTO Ultramax one piece toilet based on a recommendation from my contractor. We are currently in the midst of a Master Bath remodel and the toilet was installed today. I am not sure that you can Love an inanimate object such as a toilet, but I do. When you have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars having older two piece toilets fixed and constantly rebuilt, you can appreciate the true beauty of great quality and modern design. The TOTO is comfy, and sleek and the flush capacity is great!, all while utilizing less water than the older models. Talk about a powerful flush!!! Pros- elongated bowl fits in the same space as my previous round bowl- dual flush works well- flushes the entire bowl well- very good looking- good height- comfortable seat- soft close seat works great if you upgrade- after 2 years, still works like a charmCons- have to get used to holding down the button; after years of just hitting a lever, it took a while to get used to holding the appropriate button down for a few seconds before walking away- if you have to replace the seat, it is not easyUnlike the other reviewers, I have no children so I haven't had many issues with fecal matter. problem with #2
We purchased an aquia toilet about 6 months ago. At first I loved it-looks great and works amazingly well for the low water use. However, cleaning up after poop is getting old. It may have to do with the kids and where their bottom lands-its not over the water, so they poop in the bowl but it streaks everytime.

Tremendous performance & value. Wish I had bought this years ago.
Will flush ANYTHING. Quiet. Saves water and money. Easy to install. The independent MaP research rates this toilet's flushing extremely high (900 grams of solid waste......I found that many toilets fail to flush even 250 grams).My plumber recommended this brand and model as a great value. It's about half the price of other high-performance toilets, and it is the most reliable model he's found. I now have two of these. The 1.6 gallons per flush Toto Drakes replaced one 5 gallon per flush, and another that was 7 gallons per flush. Man, I wish I had replaced these two water guzzlers years ago.Another thing to consider is the fact that some of the newer high performance toilets have replacement parts that are hard to find, expensive to buy and difficult to install. The Drake parts are available in most hardware stores, are inexpensive, and easy (real easy) to install.

Never plunge, never double flush
I've had one of these for about 6 years. Unlike other older toilets in the house, it has never needed a plunger or a double flush. When it comes time to replace the flapper, you should look for the "2021BP G-Max Flapper For TOTO Toilet Repairs".When trying to decide which white is right, consider the other fixtures in your bathroom. American Standard's white is closest to Colonial White and Kohler's white is closest to Cotton White.

best ever loo seat
This is the best ever toilet seat. With just a flick of the finger the seat or lid closes itself gently and silently. Guys have no excuse for not putting the seat back down - they don't even have to bend all the way down to do it now. Its also a comfortable and easy to clean seat. I have them installed in wherever we live - we move quite a bit so even in rental properties we install one of these seats. Invest in a minor but pleasurable cause for happiness.
